Poppy Seeds
Poppy seeds are very small black or white seeds of Papaver Somniferum plant, native to Mediterranean countries, but the best quality poppy seeds come from one of the plants grown in Holland.
Seeds taste like nuts and are used in pasta and rice dishes, sallad dressings, cakes and cookies, with fish and vegetables. In India, poppy seeds are used to thicken the sauces.
